¡Buenas! I’m Diana, the Grumpy Granny, and I make whimsy out of yarn.
Our Story:
I learned how to crochet at 10 years old because I wanted to wear a crochet flower pin on my hair. As a teenager I made small purses and bracelets for myself and friends. This little passion project evolved into a full business while I was in college, and now it is my platform. The Grumpy Granny has become my main way of artistic expression, and what is most beautiful is that my work tends to resonate with people. It sparks whimsy and childlike wonder, which I’ve found our world to be lacking lately.
My favorite thing to crochet are figurines 🤎 All I need is a good reference picture and I can make a custom-made doll with a cartoonish touch. I’m a fan of environmental science, feminism, community, and tomfoolery. I hope my work inspires you to try out crochet because it’s a fun way to express yourself. I believe that creativity knows no bounds and that every stitch has the power to tell a story. That’s why I’ve been building this platform where creativity, catharsis, and community come together.
What Sets Us Apart:
What makes us unique? Our commitment to whimsy. My creations might make you laugh, might make you nostalgic, might make you cringe. We’re not afraid of being “too much” around here.
