Progress Pride Flag free Crochet Pattern and color graph

Howdy,

This is a crochet pattern that has long been available in Ribblr, and I’m officially releasing it for free on my website. Pride month has felt particularly important this year. Being aware of both historical context and the news around the current political climate makes me specially anxious. For any lgbt and nonbinary folk it can be scary showing up as yourself in public. Which makes our representation as vital as ever. For any crochet enthusiast, I leave this crochet guide along with the free color grid for referencing color changes.

The graph for the Progressive Pride Flag is split into squares, which could be interpreted as single crochet, but I drew it such that I could work with double crochet. So if you prefer, read two vertical squares as one (1) double crochet. That’s what I did 🙂

If you work in DC instead of SC you’ll finish your pride flag much faster 🙂

Start with black yarn and chain 122, skip the first 2 chains and dc 120

Once you’re done with the first row start doing the color changes. I recommend this because ideally you want to finish off the pattern with a border of single crochet made in black yarn. This makes the design look really neat and the colors really pop

Each square within the graph is supposed to be read as a Double Crochet. The pattern can be worked with single crochet, too if you prefer.

Remember to add a border of black single crochet once you’re done with the graph. Now take this pattern and cover your world with rainbows!!
